Cycle designed this 10-unit condominium in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, which was awarded for its energy efficient, low – to – zero carbon design under the Buildings of Excellence competition, administered by The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Buildings of Excellence is the only competition of its kind in the nation and is leading the way to achieve carbon neutral building performance in New York State. The project is pre-certified as a Passive House, designed by Cycle’s two in-house Certified Passive House Designers. At 16,600 SF, the project achieves its energy targets with the help of a 16 KW PV array, along with efficient equipment, layouts, and enclosure details.
