Caitlin joined Cycle in 2014 and has since worked on a broad range of the firm’s sustainable planning, residential and commercial projects. Previously Caitlin’s passion for sustainable development led her to work on the design and construction of community development works in rural Ghana including an orphanage, solar-powered WASH facilities, and volunteer housing with an Austrian NGO. She also worked as a consultant for UNICEF and in partnership with the Ministry of Education of Laos to develop national standards for the construction of pre-primary schools. Caitlin is a Cooper Union Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture graduate, an Irma Weiss Fellow and a certified Passive House designer.
Eleanna joined the Cycle team in 2013 with experience as a professor, higher education administrator and professional artist. She received her BA from Kenyon College and MFA from Temple University. At Cycle she is responsible for marketing, finances, accounting and compliance. When she is not at Cycle she can be found in her Brooklyn studio where she makes paintings. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally. With eight other professional artists across the U.S., she also runs a curatorial exhibition space, Ortega y Gasset Projects, also located in Brooklyn.
Lavinia has over 10 years of experience in architecture and urban design. She holds a Masters in Urban Design + Planning, and is a licensed architect in Italy. She has contributed to projects of diverse scales, here and abroad. Most recently she has worked on the re-purposing of abandoned and ruined historic buildings for a sustainable community in NYC. Her commitment to innovative architecture and urban design is interwoven with issues of social, political, ecological and cultural understanding. Her focus is on resilient and inclusive design: conceiving innovative interventions to create positive and lasting impact within communities. When not designing, she can be found playing the piano, teaching yoga or making art.
Caroline Buck Tawney is a Project Coordinator, Planner, and Urban Designer having joined Cycle in 2018 as an intern, and helps manage many projects in development and construction. She received her Masters in Urban Placemaking and Management from Pratt Institute in 2020 and has a B.S. in Sustainable Development and City Planning from Appalachian State University. She works across the fields of urban design, master planning, public space programming and planning, and graphic design. She is also an illustrator and watercolor artist, and enjoys creating visions of the places around her, as well as visualizing those that live in her head.
Hugo joined Cycle as a NYSERDA Clean Energy Intern in 2020, working on design and real estate efforts across many projects, and is leading the innovative community energy resilience project with Loisada Lab and Beyond the Grid. He received his Masters in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in 2020, and is a licensed architect in Venezuela. Hugo has a keen interest in renewable energy and its intricate relationship with the urban environment. He has a passion for photography and music, and enjoys playing the guitar, cuatro and ukulele in his spare time.
Makeda is Cycle's Administrative Manager, joining the team in 2021. Makeda has extensive administrative experience in office management, human resources and accounting. With a B.S. in Sports Marketing, she is a resourceful problem solver with effective planning and organizational practices. Makeda was fortunate enough to be instrumental in business development, and marketing initiatives and hopes to employ successful methods to her current role. In her free time, she enjoys road-tripping to mom & pop thrift stores and altering vintage clothing as well as writing about her dreams.
Habby comes to Cycle with a diverse work experience as gallery manager, translator and a professional artist. At Cycle, she is responsible for human resources, accounting, marketing and compliance. When she's not at Cycle, Habby can be found in her Brooklyn studio making sculptures. Habby's work has been exhibited widely both in the US and internationally, including museum solo exhibitions in Iceland.
