DEP Remsen Avenue
As principal with a prior firm, Tony Daniels served as project manager for the Remsen Avenue Yard, a $40 Million renovation of a 2 - 1/2 acre site and facility for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. The team was selected for its design approach, which blended cutting edge environmental strategies with detail drive, hands-on project management.
The project involved the reconstruction of DEP's South Brooklyn headquarters, and included planning for DEP vehicles, parking, and office and field staff, equipment storage, and materials storage and staging. The project required a standard-setting sustainable approach as well as detailed analysis of operations in order to optimize efficiency.
The resulting structure, with its large activated roof harvests solar energy and water for use by the facility, and provides a humane, safe, and efficient workplace fore DEP employees.
